Geotechnical Instrumentation & Monitoring

CAST Laboratories is experienced in installing and monitoring equipment to study geotechnical problems which are often associated with projects involving Foundation, Deep Excavation, and Underground tunnels, On-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Systems, Expressways and Flyovers. In deep excavation work, the use of geotechnical instrumentation is an essential tool for monitoring the behaviour of the works. The data collected can also be used to compare actual movements against design predictions.

Our geotechnical instrumentation & monitoring team works with various well-known contractors on numerous large-scale projects and is able to provide comprehensive inspection services solutions integrated with our Site Investigation services.

GEOTECHNICAL INSTRUMENTATION

Our Geotechnical Instrumentation services include monitoring of lateral and Vertical Ground Movement, Pore Water Response and other aspects of geotechnical behaviour.

We can conduct Structural Monitoring using equipment such as:

Vibration Sensors

Noise Meters

Tilt Plates

Building Settlement Markers

Crack Meters

GEOTECHNICAL MONITORING

We can also conduct Real-time Monitoring System and Automatic Deformation Monitoring System (inside tunnels and on structures) using:

Vibration Sensors

Structural Sensors

Electro-Level Beams

Automatic Total Station

Among the instruments we use are the:

Piezometer

Inclinometer

Water Standpipes

Settlement markers

Strain gauges

Load cells in deep excavations
