CAST LABORATORIES GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SECTION

 

Geotechnical problems arise in modern urban and rural construction on different kinds of geomaterial (e.g. Soil and Rock). Common problems include stability, deformation and bearing capacity. In such circumstances, knowledge on soil and rock properties such as classification, shear strength and deformation are essential. Sometimes, ground improvement technique in the form of cement jet grouting and deep cement mixing are used in soft soil and as such the knowledge on shear strength and deformation properties of improved soil are very important. Geotechnical properties play important role for the analysis and design of foundations, temporary and permanent earth retaining structures, dams, embankment etc. Wide range of laboratory and field-testing are required to get right geotechnical parameters and thus enables to solve geotechnical engineering problems.
