2022 WeCare @ North West – Service Weeks

On 29 January 2022, our team of caring staff spent their Saturday packing and distributing goody bags to needy residents residing in public rental units in the North West District.

Over 30 volunteers from The Tai Sin Group of Companies gathered together with MP Poh Li San to take part in this meaningful initiative.

As part of a coordinated effort organised by North West CDC, a total of 7,300 festive packs were distributed to 22,000 residents in the North West District.

Used Clothes Donation Drive

As part of our CSR efforts, CAST Lab collaborated with Lions Club to collect used apparels whereby proceeds are used to support the Plant-A-Tree Programme by National Parks Board. Every tree planted will contribute to the OneMillionTrees movement over the next 10 years.

Over a course of 4 weeks, used apparels were collected from Tai Sin Group of Companies namely Tai Sin Electric, Lim Kim Hai Electric, CAST Laboratories and Astar Laboratory.

On Friday, 21st January 2022, donated clothes of $530 together with a cheque of $1200 was presented by Tai Sin Electric’s Executive Vice President, Mr. Lin Chen Mou to Lions Club of Singapore West in support of National Parks Board, Plant-A-Tree Programme.

Even though it started to rain half way through the event, staff from the Tai Sin Group of Companies and Lions Club passionately shifted the apparels indoors until it was ready to be loaded onto the pick-up truck.

WeCare @ North West 2020

On 11 January 2020, volunteers from CAST Lab participated in the ‘WeCare @ North West – Service Weeks’ as Tai Sin Group of Companies, together with Minister Khaw Boon Wan and Dr Teo Ho Pin, and students from Admiralty Secondary School.

Our staff volunteers packed goodie bags and distributed them to residents at Woodlands Rise in preparation of the upcoming festive period.

RDA Inclusion Walk-A-Wheelathon 2019

Over the weekend, CAST Lab’s staff, along with their family members, participated in the 3km RDA Inclusion Walk-A-Wheelathon. The event was held on 29th September 2019, and flagged off at 9.30am. Participants started off at MacRitchie Reservoir and took a route that resembled an outline of a unicorn, which ended at the RDA Centre where a charity carnival was held.

This event aims to encourage inclusiveness within the community, among the able and disabled, as they participate in this Walk-A-Wheelathon together.

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2019

As part of our CSR efforts, CAST Laboratories has been participating in the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run project yearly, and this year is no exception. This year’s Yellow Ribbon Prison Run was held on the 15th of September, and more than 100 employees of our employees represented CAST Laboratories to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2019. (Our highest participant count yet!) The run started as early as 7.15am at Changi Village and the route passes by Lloyds Leas Community Supervision Centre, Tanah Merah Prison and ended at Changi Prison with a carnival set up.

The Yellow Ribbon Project aims to create awareness giving second chances to ex-offenders and to accept them into the community, putting aside all discrimination against them.
